LX CLUB v Oxford Hawks

Result: Lost 1 - 3

On a hot and humid afternoon, the LX's team initial thought was, 'some of them look a bit young'! However, the LX team quickly settled down and with the help of Andy King playing centre half, had the better of the first half but just prior to the whistle, Hawks took a free hit on the half way line and caught our defence off guard. LX had three short corners but couldn't convert any of them. I: 0 at half time quickly became two nil within a couple of minutes of the restart and LX quickly had to regroup. The second half was more open and despite a third goal from Hawks, LX pulled one back with ten minutes to go, thanks to a good strike by Gerald Wilkinson.

An excellent competitive game of hockey was followed by a superb Chilli, and Keith thanked the umpires (P.J.Wilson & Dave Robson), Tony Henman, who kindly provided the wine, and the Oxford Hawks for their hospitality
