LX CLUB v Reading Veterans

A much stronger LX side had been selected for this 3rd annual game against Reading Veterans and they nearly scored their first victory.

The Reading side fielding two LX players, Ada Robertson & Keith Hunt had had a hard game against a much younger Whitchurch team from South Wales the previous day, but they held on and in the end it finished a two all draw.

Reading had the better of the first half and at the interval were one up. The LX came back strongly in the second and within the first 15minutes, thanks to goals from Greg Hutchins and Gordon Small, were in control. Unfortunately in the last ten minutes after a strong move down the right hand side, someone forgot to mark Keith Hunt coming in on the left post who converted the cross and it was two all.
