LX vs Surbiton Seniles

This was an excellent played in the old fashioned way with Wendy Beaney in sole charge with the whistle. In the first half brilliant defence by Gilbert Grace, John Longden, John Widgery and Arthur Barber complemented by some magical reaction saves by Nigel Dixon restricted Surbiton to one goal. In the second half tired legs and an injury to John Longden allowed Surbiton to pass the ball around us and run out 5-0 winners. We made some chances but were unable to get a consolation goal. LX players Hugo Rowbotham, Rod Cochrane and Mike Beaney played for Surbiton with both Hugo and Mike scoring!
