Ladies & LXers
The LX tour to Jersey is a mere 3½ months away. Due to previous bookings we are unable to stay at the Wheatlands Hotel but we have booked a slightly more upmarket hotel - Les Charrieres Country Hotel - which looks very nice in the brochure. The web site address is www.lescharriereshotel.co.uk.
Fortunately it has many more leisure facilities than the Wheatlands but, unfortunately for some, no golf on site but this can be arranged on courses nearby.
For those who have not been on this tour before the itinerary is as follows:
Friday 11th - for those intrepid golfers there is
18 holes of golf. In the evening all those present usually dine together and we
have an excellent change of venue this year which I understand to be highly
recommended.
Saturday 12th - Nine or eighteen holes of golf in the morning followed by
hockey matches in the afternoon against sympathetically selected teams. In the
evening we dine with our hockey hosts at Les Ormes Country Club with a selected
menu (vegetarians please let the team manager know in advance).
Sunday 13th - Late morning two games of hockey are played in time to
allow those departing on the Sunday to catch their plane home.
The golf and Friday meal is up to each individual’s requirements.
The cost for the weekend will be approximately £80.00 per
person for two nights or £99.00 per person for three nights based on two sharing
and covers bed and breakfast. You should also allow for approximately £30.00 per
person for the evening at Les Ormes Country Club on the Saturday. Those people
staying for three nights qualify for a free group A car hire per room or 1 group
B car per two rooms (excluding c.d.i., tax and petrol).
We also hire mini buses to ferry us all around for the
weekend and this is an additional cost that we have to bear but we will not be
able to confirm how much until we have more idea of numbers and how many have
decided to take up the option for a free car. Hiring mini buses also means that
we have to provide named drivers for each bus so we will be asking for
volunteers to drive, the more the merrier so that it does not become a burden on
the few drivers volunteering.
This tour has been a very popular event with the LX Club and on that basis we have made a booking for 33 people with the hotel. We have to pay a deposit for the rooms in the next few weeks so we need to know as soon as possible how many of you are likely to come this year.
