Team Information

The Fixtures section contains the confirmed LX Club fixtures for the next few months. If you are able to play on any of the dates shown, please notify our Team Secretary George Hazell preferably by e-mail or alternatively you can ring him direct.

For each game the Team Secretary records the names of those members who have notified him of their availability. This information is then forwarded to the relevant Match Manager (see below). At times, there maybe as many as 40-50 volunteers for any particular game. From the information supplied by the Team Secretary, the Match Manager will select the squad he will require for that date and notify them accordingly. If you do not receive any communication from the Match Manager, please assume that on this occasion you have not been selected. You will also find a list of those selected for the game on this website. If you do not have access to the website and you wish to check whether you are required you should contact the Match Manager for that game.

This system will save Match Managers having to make 20 or 30 extra phone calls

If the LX Club have a match scheduled in your vicinity please help the club and offer your name as a Match Manager or organise `. The job involves liaising with the host club to agree the arrangements for the game to gauge the potential strength of the opposition.

George Hazell will supply a list of names of those players who have stated that they would like to be considered for the game.

The Match Manager should :- (a form to assist with items 3,4 & 5 can be downloaded here -then save or print)
(1) Select a team suited to give the opposition a competitive game. Seek assistance from others if you so desire (most of the selection committee are only a phone call away). It is always a good idea to try to include a potential new member if this is possible.
(2) Notify players selected as early as possible and send a list of the team selection to George Hazell (by e-mail) for posting on the website.
(3) Organise collection of the match fees and the submission of a match report. It is also useful to have somebody on the sideline to take photographs, particularly action shots of the game but preferably not shots of players backsides - it's not their best angle! Either digital photos or ordinary photographs are acceptable although the former is best for the web site.
(4) Send the report and any photographs (by email or post) to Adrian Stephenson  and George Hazell  as soon as possible after the game. This information will be put in the LXer and added to the website.
(5) Send the monies direct to the Treasurer, Ray Jeff- a minimum of £25 plus anything else left in the kitty, not forgetting to mention the game concerned.

New Match Managers are always welcome – the current Match Manager does not necessarily want to run that particular game every year. Put your name forward by contacting Secretary Bob Purshouse (by e-mail or you can ring him direct), don't leave it to the same old faithfuls who usually end up doing all the work.
